                         The article presents the results of regional monitoring of functional literacy of students in grades 5–9 of municipalities/educational organizations of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Ugra in the 2023/2024 academic year, where special attention was paid to reading literacy as a meta-subject competence. As a result of the work done, methodological recommendations are given to municipal educational organizations of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Ugra for further effective work in order to increase the level of reading literacy of students in this age group.
