THE ROLE OF A FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHER IN THE EDUCATION OF UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

The article deals with the peculiarities of the foreign language teacher's influence on students. Effective ways and methods of students' upbringing applied within the educational process in higher education institution are defined. The author notes the high importance of the teacher in the education of student's value positions. The conclusion is made about the positive impact of traditional and modern approaches in the education of students, which include lessons, lectures, practical classes, seminars, workshops, concerts, exhibitions, theatrical productions, festivals, sports events. The relationship between the concepts of education and patriotism is pointed out. The main methods of students' education are emphasized. It is concluded that effective education of students requires a comprehensive approach that combines various pedagogical means, methods of education and it is also emphasized that education should be aimed at the formation of responsible and competent citizens.
