TOWARDS THE STUDY OF REGIONAL NICKNAMES (BASED ON THE MATERIAL OF THE VILLAGE OF SHELOPUGINO IN THE TRANS-BAIKAL TERRITORY)

The article is devoted to regional nicknames that originated in a certain area and reflect the flavor, way of life, language, traditions and customs of the population. Due to the interest in research in the field of anthropology, the work is interesting and relevant from this point of view. The purpose of the work is to study the unique material collected through a survey, conversation and interviewing of the indigenous inhabitants of the village of Shelopugino, namely the inhabitants of the Mountain (now Zaundinsky district of the village of Shelopugino) about the nicknames that were given to everyone living in the described territory. Using the comparative historical method, we have built causal relationships between the occurrence of certain nicknames, which have formed reasonable conclusions. Historical and genetic analysis revealed the essence of the process of transmission of nicknames through inheritance throughout life up to the present. The paper attempts to examine the origins of nicknames and identifies the main ones, among which are visual, mental, situational, familial, nameless, professional and unknown origin. There were 77 units in total. It is concluded that nicknames, being an important characteristic of named people, certainly reflect the linguistic and cultural component of the region and represent a promising study among scientists-anthropologists, linguoculturologists, onomasts, philologists, psychologists, ethnographers, etc.
