ADAPTATION OF A LEGAL TEXT WHEN WORKING WITH STUDENTS AT DIFFERENT LEVELS OF HIGHER EDUCATION

On the example of the text of a scientific article on legal topics, the authors consider the possibility of using the basic principles of adaptation (reduction, selection of synonymous words and phrases, changing the complexity of sentences, all kinds of paraphrasing) in English language practice classes for students of bachelor, master and postgraduate courses in the field of law. It is shown that such work will be useful for students to enlarge their vocabulary, develop their speech skills in terms of oral and written speech when carrying out such types of learning activities as retelling a text, formulating answers to questions about the text and the main idea of the readings, drafting annotations, preparing final papers, materials for conferences and presentations.
