The article covers the topic of difficulties in translating cliched expressions in the language pair "Russian and English". The most problematic groups of clichés are idiomatic expressions, phrasal verbs, and complex-derived neologisms. Such translation methods as adaptation, calculation, and the use of similar expressions will help convey the meaning of an expression that is not found in another language. The article also examines examples of unsuccessful translations that illustrate how cultural differences can distort the author's original intent. The author emphasizes the importance of a contextual approach and knowledge of the cultural realities of both language systems to achieve accuracy and naturalness in translation.
