The topic of the Voronezh proletariat in the period from February to October 1917 was touched upon both in Soviet and in modern historiography. Its relevance is indicated by understanding, against the background of the contradictory judgments in society, the causes of the crises of state power in 1917 and their consequences. The literature on this issue cannot be called exhaustive. The presented article aims to accumulate the results of previously published works and fill in the gaps of previous researchers. Based on archival sources, to reveal and clarify some points in the situation of the Voronezh proletariat in the period from February to October 1917. To complete the general idea of the processes that took place in Russia between the two revolutions. To draw our own conclusions, in particular, using the example of the situation of Voronezh workers, to point out the primary causes of the workers' protest movement, which became part of the totality of factors that led to the new revolution in October 1917. When studying the problem, both general and historical research methods were used. The previously unpublished archival documents of the Voronezh Region State Archive, as well as the memoirs of N.N. Rabichev, were used.
