CONVERSATION CLUB FOR LEARNERS OF RUSSIAN AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE: GOALS, CONTENT AND PERSPECTIVES

This article is devoted to the problems of organizing extracurricular activities for students studying Russian as a foreign language. A popular form of such activities in linguistic and non-linguistic environments is a conversation club. The analysis of existing Russian language conversation clubs presented in this article allows us to find out the common structural elements, similarities and differences in the thematic content, as well as the peculiarities of the formats used. Taking into account the identified characteristics of conversation clubs operating in different Russian universities, the author proposes to make adjustments to the conversation club program created for the Preparatory Faculty and additional educational programs of St. Petersburg State University. The generalization of the characteristics of Russian language conversation clubs can be useful both for teachers planning to create their own conversation club and for methodologists developing the program of the club within the department/faculty.
