ON THE MICROSTRUCTURE OF RUSSIAN AND CHINESE THEMATIC PHRASEOLOGICAL DICTIONARIES

Aleksandrikova L. G.  (postgraduate, The Higher School of Translation and Interpreting (faculty), Lomonosov Moscow State University Moscow )

The article is focused on a thorough analysis of the microstructure and specification of features of similarity and differences of Russian and Chinese thematic phraseological dictionaries, “Russian phraseology. Dictionary-Reference Book” by R.I. Yarantsev 1997 and the “Thematic Dictionary of Chinese Chengyu” by Ye Zixiong and Wu Derun 1992, which had not previously been compared. At the level of microstructure, these dictionaries had more differences than similarities, as demonstrated in this comparative study. Russian and Chinese dictionaries of this type follow the same principles of phraseology, with each article having a heading unit, phonetic characteristics, phraseology interpretation, and illustrative examples. The differences between Russian and Chinese languages arise from their distinct language types, which have distinct letters, and the implementation of different lexicographical traditions in their dictionaries.
