NATIONAL EDUCATION POLICY 2020 AND ITS ROLE IN TEACHER TRAINING IN INDIA

The paper focuses on the National Education Policy 2020 and its role in training teachers. The authors reveal the central aspects of the transformation of Indian teacher education that determine its positive development dynamics. The study is based on the use of content analysis methods of literary sources on the designated topic. The paper summarizes that the National Education Policy 2020 provides for an effective system of training teachers in the country, transforming autonomous pedagogical universities and colleges into multidisciplinary institutions with a network of public and private schools for cooperation and involvement of students in the educational process as teachers, reoriented the training of doctors of science, recommended the use of specialized SWAYAM / DIKSHA technology platforms in the process of organizing and conducting advanced training courses for teachers of secondary and higher schools, and proposed the creation of a National Mentoring Mission to create an effective system of pedagogical support. One of the results of the study was the conclusion that these recommendations should be used in the development of a new model of Russian higher pedagogical education.
