THE STORY OF CINDERELLA AS A STORY ABOUT A DEMYTHOLOGIZED AND REMYTHOLOGIZED HERO

This article is devoted to the modification of the Cinderella plot in modern fiction. Using selected works as an example, the vectors of transformation of the familiar fairy-tale plot and the image of the oppressed stepdaughter are examined in the context of demythologization and remythologization of the analyzed story of Cinderella. The research methods are based on a comparative historical approach to the analysis of the mythological and folklore plot proposed by Eleazar Moiseevich Meletinsky. The aim of the work is to study changes in the perception of the plot about Cinderella during the transition of the fairy-tale image from a demythologized hero to a remythologized one: how the image of Cinderella changes and what such changes are related to.
