The paper observes the issues of teaching interpretation at the university. Unlike he translation of written texts this type of linguistic activity has not changed a lot and requires a lot of training for getting corresponding knowledge and skills. As a result students do different exercises which develop necessary level of proficiency allowing them to achieve set tasks. The paper describes several exercises which can be used in the subjects devoted to consecutive interpretation helping to develop a professional thinking and consciousness of an interpretor to be.
