ANALYSIS OF LINGUISTIC REPRESENTATIONS OF REQUESTS BY FOREIGN STUDENTS (BASED ON MOTIVATION LETTERS OF TURKISH APPLICANTS TO “MPEI”)

The article focuses on the analysis of self-presentation strategies in motivation letters written by Turkish students applying to the National Research University “Moscow Power Engineering Institute” (“MPEI”) within the framework of the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant project. The study aims to identify representative linguistic constructions and pragmatic attitudes reflecting the applicants’ academic goals and cultural orientations. The influence of national and cultural factors on language choice is considered. The article offers a classification of lexico-syntactic and pragmalinguistic features of the texts. The research is based on more than one hundred letters submitted in 2025.
