This article examines the theoretical and practical aspects of developing high school students' civic identity in the context of additional education. It explores the essence and structure of civic identity as a multifaceted phenomenon, emphasizing adolescents' age-related sensitivity to civic values. The aim of the study is to analyze the theoretical and methodological foundations and modern practices of civic identity formation among high school students, to identify their strengths and weaknesses, and to outline directions for improvement. The objectives include clarifying the concept of civic identity and its components, characterizing age-specific features of adolescents, systematizing methodological approaches to the issue, reviewing supplementary education practices, evaluating their advantages and shortcomings, and providing recommendations for enhancing educational work. The methodological basis comprises analysis and synthesis of psycho-pedagogical literature published in 2022–2025, comparative analysis of pedagogical practices, classification. Based on the research results a conclusion is made regarding the need for a systemic approach, including the development of diagnostic tools, the interaction of basic and supplementary education and active use of engaging educational forms.
