THE PHENOMENON OF COHESION (COHERENCE) IN NAGUIB MAHFOUZ'S SHORT STORY "TWILIGHT" (SCHAFAK, ARABIC)

In the article, the author explores the problem of linguistic understanding of the essence of the Arabic text using the example of a story by the Egyptian author Naguib Mahfouz, analyzing such text-forming features as coherence in Arabic fiction. Referring to the literary text of the Arabic language, cohesion is interpreted as the central category of the text. It is concluded that the cohesion in this text is carried out in the form of repetition-picking, realizing the logical and semantic integrity of the entire message, ensuring coherence (integrity of the text).
