The fall of separable rocket parts (spent stages and head fairing) in specified areas is an integral part of their testing. At the same time, it requires ensuring the safety of the population, navigation and aviation flights along the missile flight path, as well as reducing the negative impact on the environmental situation. To address these issues, in the 1960s, a base for working with separable rocket parts was created in the Arctic - fall areas and military formations to work with them. This article analyzes the work of the 53rd Scientific Research Test Site of the USSR Ministry of Defense with separable parts of intercontinental ballistic missiles.
Keywords:intercontinental ballistic missile, impact fields, separable missile parts, tests, test site.
