The subject of analysis and interpretation in the presented article is the regional peculiarities of cultural policy pursued in the context of the formation of a system of repression in the country in the 20-30s. As a result, various characteristics of culture are presented, considered through the prism of the ongoing repressive policy in one of the autonomous republics of the North Caucasus (Kabardino-Balkaria). The article highlights the stages of the existence of a repressed culture associated with epochal transformations of economic life, politics, and spiritual life. The paper defines the forms used, the methods and methods of repression used by state bodies. At the same time, different spheres of public life were highlighted where the consequences of repressive policies manifested themselves. This is an atheistic policy in theory and practice, expressed by the desire to destroy religiosity and religious spirituality. This includes repression against employees of administrative bodies established in settlements where politics and the struggle for power have come. The period under review was the time of the destruction of the victors in the civil war, which had the idea of building a new society. On this basis various forms of repressive state policy were created aimed at creating an obedient and eventually ideological spiritual culture.
Keywords:North Caucasus, repression, collectivization, culture, dispossession.
