The article examines the view of university students on maternal punishment in relation to a modern Russian teenage boy. Objectives: to characterize the views of researchers on the problem of maternal punishment in general and, in particular, adolescent boys; to conduct a survey among students on the subject of research; to analyze the results and draw conclusions. Methods: analysis of scientific literature, questionnaire, analysis, synthesis, generalization. In the course of the work, the authors come to the conclusion that, in the opinion of university students, maternal punishment is one of the ways of educational influence, the main purpose of which, in the opinion of students, is to prepare their son for an independent life, the desire to teach responsibility, and, in the opinion of students, to ensure his present and future safety in communications.
