the article addresses the problem of developing students’ motivation for physical education in the context of digital transformation of higher education. The purpose of the study was to identify the pedagogical potential of digital educational technologies in enhancing students’ interest and engagement in physical and health-related activities. The research employed theoretical methods (analysis of psychological and pedagogical literature, synthesis of educational experience) and empirical methods (questionnaires, observation, and pedagogical experiment).
The experimental work was conducted among university students studying the discipline Physical Education and included the use of mobile fitness applications, LMS platforms and interactive forms of digital communication. The results demonstrated a statistically significant increase in both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation levels in the experimental groups compared with the control groups.
It was found that the effective use of digital educational technologies promotes self-monitoring, competitiveness, and awareness of the personal and professional value of physical activity. The study concludes that a comprehensive approach to the integration of digital tools into the physical education process, along with improving teachers’ digital competence, is essential for fostering sustainable motivation among students.
