POLITICAL TRANSFORMATIONS IN SINO-SOVIET RELATIONS: FROM CONFRONTATION TO COOPERATION (1980-1990)

This article examines issues related to political transformations in Sino-Soviet relations over a period of time. The purpose of the study is to analyze Sino-Soviet relations in the sphere of politics in the period 1980-1990. The main methods of research were: analysis, comparative, institutional and others. The relations of the two countries from the position of confrontation and cooperation are considered. The main goals and objectives of the foreign policy of the two countries, as well as the main conditions for their favorable cooperation in the long term have been studied. The author notes the main problems and prospects for the development of Soviet-Chinese relations in this period of time. It is concluded that not all directions and efforts on the part of the PRC and the Soviet Union were able to bring positive results, however, the mistakes made created a basis for their elimination in the future and the adoption of new effective solutions.
