The article is devoted to a comprehensive study of the concept sphere of A. Veltman's romantic poem "Murom Forests" (1831) in the context of the Russian Byronic tradition of the first third of the 19th century. The relevance of the work is due to insufficient study of A. Veltman's creativity in modern literary criticism and the need to identify the specifics of the Russian robber poem, which differs from the Western European tradition with its emphasis on Orthodox categories of sin, conscience and repentance. The problem lies in determining the hierarchy of concepts and their role in the artistic system of the work, where universal romantic values are combined with a national worldview. The purpose of the study is to identify the structural and semantic characteristics of key concepts of the work and determine their hierarchy in the ideological and artistic system of the poem.
Keywords:concept, concept sphere, romanticism, Byronic poem, A. Veltman, Russian literature of the 19th century.
