This article examines the establishment and development of partnership between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Colombia from the 1990s to the 2020s, as well as the risks hindering their improvement and ways to overcome these obstacles. Despite the rather complicated history of Soviet-Colombian diplomatic relations in the 20th century, in the post-Soviet period, beginning in 1991, the partnership between Russia and Colombia rapidly gained momentum. The authors examine the evolution of cooperation between these countries in the social, trade, economic, political, cultural, military, and other spheres. A number of agreements, treaties, and declarations signed between 1991 and 2025, aimed at strengthening Russian-Colombian friendly ties and fruitful mutually beneficial cooperation, are analyzed. This work also examines various political events, meetings, visits between the two countries' leaders, heads of government agencies, and joint intergovernmental meetings that contributed to the development of partnership and friendly relations between Russia and Colombia.
