The article examines the phenomenon of Ispik glazed pottery as a unified production tradition of Southern Dagestan and Northern Azerbaijan. Based on archaeological data and the design of double-tiered kilns (kum), the production centers (Old Ispik, Kala settlement) are attributed, confirming the autochthonous nature of the craft. Technological features (sherd stratigraphy, glazes) and socio-economic reasons for the tradition’s decline are analyzed. The methodology of the experimental reconstruction of the technological cycle, developed by researcher Z. Ibragimov, is described.
Keywords:Ispik ceramics, glazed pottery, Southern Dagestan, Lezgin craft, archaeological reconstruction, two-tiered kilns (kum), Old Ispik, Kala settlement.
