Gong Jingsong   (Moscow Pedagogical State University)

Structural features of prepositions in the works of Russian linguists in the XVIII-XIX centuries are established proceeding from the presence or absence of the word-formation relationship with this or that significant part of speech in Russian language for this type of function words, therefore, they are considered in connection with their etymology. In prerevolutionary linguistics was convincingly proved that the primitive prepositions in the Russian language, as a rule, are not word-formally related to the significant parts of speech, while the derived prepositions are formed from the significant parts of speech, in particular from adverbs, and which are viewed as the result of the phraseologization of the significant parts of speech. The article deals with the structural typology of prepositions in Russian language, presented in the scientific studies of the main Russian linguists in 18th and 19th centuries, and their word-forming and structural principles for the classification of considered linguistic units are illuminated
