The article tells about a Venetian artist of the 17th century Rosalba Carriera, the author of numerous pastel portraits. Rosalba Carriera helped establish the style of Rococo. She influenced his numerous contemporary artists. Creativity of Carriera brought her much acknowledgement during his lifetime, but it was neglected in the XIX - XX centuries.
