Motivation and evaluation of foreign language receptive competence

The article looks upon informational competency as an ability to work with sources of information and educational project activities, which should involve conceptual understanding of a professional sphere of knowledge. The author suggests that the theory of conceptual categorization of speech units offers a scheme for post-graduate students’ English projects. Semantic frames of the concept “Insurance” are analyzed in their speech contexts. Translation of terms represents a means of semantization and that is especially important for project activities of foreign language learners.
