The Economy of the Mari ASSR during the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945)

The article deals with the development of the main branches of the economy of the Mari ASSR - industry and agriculture during the Great Patriotic War. On the example of the republic, the processes of restructuring the economy of the rear region to ensure the country's defense are being investigated. The author comes to the conclusion that there is a huge distortion in economic development - a "leap" in industry and a crisis in agriculture.
