"Islamic board": the political program of revolutionary changes in Iran in the 1970s

The Islamic Republic of Iran is a unique state formation, based on the hidden rule of the spiritual leader, while the official ruler is the president. Theological work of the ayatollah Khomeini «Islamic board» is the cornerstone of establishment of the Islamic republic. The article examines the methods by which it was planned to implement the transition to a theocratic form of government, the main directions of modernization of Iranian society and state on the Islamic model, ideological steps to implement this program. The authors state the adoption of the Khomeini program by broad sections of the population, partial satisfaction with it by various political forces, which ultimately led to its fairly successful implementation in practice.
