Background knowledge in teaching students technical translation

Technical translation is considered to be one of the most labour-intensive and critical linguistic processes in which the perfect command of a foreign language must converge with the in-depth knowledge of the subject and cultural aspect. The article describes the stages of teaching students how to translate technical texts beginning with the first year of teaching to getting additional education of a technical translator. The graduates get all the necessary linguistic and background knowledge to make an adequate translation.
