Features of modern workflow and document language on example of Russian and Portuguese guaranty letters

The article deals with the features of modern document language. Special attention is payed to the official style of language, since it plays an irreplaceable role in drafting of any documents. The general features and requirements of the official style of language, as well as its differences from the point of view of vocabulary, phraseology, syntax and application in the practice of commercial activity and business communication are considered. Specific examples of the Russian and Portuguese guaranty letters are given, as well as their general characteristics and main differences. It was concluded that the form of the business document is determined by the summary of its requisites, the content-composition scheme and the language content of the document. In document language special meaning belongs to the bureaucratic and procedural lexicon, which are rarely used in oral speech.
