The use of phraseological loan translation method in translating B.L. Pasternak’s prose into english

The article deals with the translation of B.L. Pasternak’s prose phraseological units from Russian into English by method of phraseological loan translation. In the process of analysis we distinguish full and incomplete loan translation. It is noted that Russian comparative phraseological units are completely subjected to loan translation as for incomplete loan translation of the English language they are most often characterized by the replacement in them one of the components of the Russian phraseological unit. The article also analyzes the translation of the same phraseological unit of the Russian language by different translators in different ways of translation. At the same time, both positive and negative features of this translation method are revealed.
