Herman Lopatin: awesome friend of great people

German Alexandrovich Lopatin was a legendary figure in the circles of socialists of the second half of the XIX century. A friend of Karl Marx and Ivan Turgenev, an adventurer and "knight of the revolution", a person of outstanding abilities and the first translator of "Capital" - all this was combined in one person, whose name is now known to few. The life of Herman Alexandrovich can be divided into two key stages: the first stage – a period of activity, hard work, revolutionary struggle and adventure, the second stage – oblivion within the walls of Shlisselburg. The article describes the life path of G. A. Lopatin, compiled on the basis of his autobiography, correspondence, interrogation protocols and memoirs of contemporaries.
