This article examines the category of the fantastic in political discourse - its linguistic expression and the reasons for its appearance. The article explores one of the most important linguistic means of expressing the fantastic in political discourse - metaphor. The use of elements of the fantastic in political discourse is considered on the example of the book "Maxims and Thoughts of the Prisoner of St. Helena" by Count Las Kaz.
