Origins of cognitive linguistics

This article discusses the origins and ideas of the emergence of cognitive linguistics. The basic concepts of cognitive linguistics are interpreted. In the course of the study, descriptive, descriptive-comparative and comparative-typological methods of linguistics were used. The internal form of the word and its cognitive potential are considered on the basis of words from the Russian and Azerbaijani languages. At the end of the article, summing up, it is noted that differences of a cognitive nature affect not only the internal form of languages. They may be of a deeper nature and affect the conceptual content of the sign.
