This article offers options for the use of toponyms in the lessons of the Altai language. The author uses toponyms of the Altai Republic as language material. Toponyms contribute to the deepest penetration into the meaning of the word, improve students' linguistic analysis skills, educate students' interest in the Altai language and the present and past of their native land.
