THE PLACE OF AUTHOR TERMS IN THE TERMINOLOGY ON THE BASIS OF VISUAL ART IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

The article explores the appearance, the concept and the essence of the "author term", which is closely connected to the author's concept, the author's interpretation of a specific notion in a text and a discourse. The article focuses on implementing the concept of an “author term” to terminology of Visual Arts and develops etymological, semantic and pragmatic criteria for identifying author terms. While author terms are generally part of the periphery of the terminology many of them can shift their position and become part of the core of a terminology. This is what happened to the terms “Assemblage” and “Concrete Art”.
