THE MEANING OF IDIOMS IN MODERN CHINESE NOVELS

The aim of the article is to identify due to specific examples how idioms influence the understanding of plot, character and image development in modern Chinese literature. During the study, interrelated tasks were solved: 1) the meaning of idioms used in Chinese novels and their relation to the context of the novel were analyzed and shown; 2) the role of idioms in creating the atmosphere and style of the work was determined; 3) the influence of idioms on the perception and understanding of the modern Chinese literature works was studied. The relevance of the work is based on the spreading influence of the People’s Republic of China in literature field. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the fact that a detailed analysis of idioms used in modern Chinese novels and their influence on the understanding of the plot and other aspects of the work were studied. To achieve the objective, the authors of the article applied such methods of scientific research as selection and analysis of various literature works on the subject, and analysis of Chinese novels texts containing idioms.
