The article provides a communicative and pragmatic analysis of the behavior of a journalist as a participant in dialogical interaction within the framework of interviews on popular science topics. An attempt is made to consider the tactics used by a journalist to reveal the topic of a conversation in order to popularize scientific knowledge within the framework of an interview with a researcher and evaluate their effectiveness in providing scientific knowledge in a form understandable to a lay reader.
