TRACEABILITY AND PROSPECTS OF THE COMPLEX WORD “NUMBER+NAME” IN MODERN CHINESE

This paper examines the peculiarities of using the complex numeral combination "number + number name" in modern Chinese. This lexical construction is a productive way of forming multi-digit numerals in Chinese, which ensures accuracy and clarity when denoting large numbers. The material for the study was the corpus of written texts in modern Chinese of various styles and genres with a total volume of more than 5 million characters. To identify the features of the use of the lexical structure in question, the frequency, contextual relationships and the quantitative ratio of its spelling variants were analyzed. As a result of the conducted research, it was found that the construction "number + number name" is the most productive way to form multi-digit numerals in the Chinese language. The peculiarities of its use depending on the styles and genres of texts are revealed.
