THE ROLE OF THE INGUSH NATIONAL INTELLIGENTSIA IN THE RESTORATION OF THE INGUSHETIA REPUBLIC

The article examines the role of the national movement in the late 80s – early 90s of the twentieth century in the formation of the Republic of Ingushetia as a subject of the Russian Federation, and also evaluates the contribution that this movement made to the process of formation of the national identity of the Ingush. The reasons and mechanism of development of the Ingush national movement were studied and the activities of the most prominent figures who took an active part in the work of the movement, which became a factor that largely determined the vector of the future development of the entire people, were analyzed.
