PECULIARITIES OF THE TRANSLATION OF METAPHORS (BASED ON THE J.G. BYRON'S POEMS)

The article addresses the problem of translating J.G. Byron's metaphors from English into Russian. The relevance of the study lies in the fact that a unified point of view has not yet been adopted on the classification of methods of translating metaphors, and the features of poems require the translator not only to know both languages, but to study and preserve the features of the artistic world of the author of the original work. Many works were written about the work of J.G. Byron. His style of writing has been studied by many linguists, but the question of the peculiarities of translating metaphors in his poetic works still contains many unexplored moments. The conducted research included an analysis of the peculiarities of the translation of metaphors in the poetic works of J.G. Byron.
