FUNCTIONAL DETERMINACY OF THE LANGUAGE TOOLS USED IN E. MACRON'S NEW YEAR'S ADDRESS IN 2023

The article considers some aspects of presidential rhetoric in the context of political discourse, explores the concepts of ritual speech and New Year's address of the president; language functions and their correlation with the functions of the New Year's address are studied in detail; the New Year's address 2023 presented by French president, Emmanuel Macron, is analyzed, tracing the relationship between the linguistic expressive means and public speech functions.
