The relevance of studying the emigration movement from Russia to China and re-emigration in the first half of the 20th century is determined by scientific and socio-political factors. These include the problems of colonization and migration policy, assessment of the role of the border and border territories in the development of the country, issues of cross-border interaction, analysis of the emergence and functioning of a large Russian diaspora in China. Cross-country migration has become an important factor in bilateral relations and stability in the region.
