The article examines the process of formation and modern content of anti-Russian Western historical myths. The classification of anti-Russian myths based on the object of myth-making is clarified. The conclusion is made about the purposeful regeneration of historical myths in the conditions of the modern mental confrontation between Russia and the collective West. The conducted research indicates the existence of a single ideological structure – the «Western myth about Russia».
