LINGUISTIC MEANS OF EXPRESSING THE OPPOSITION «THREAT» – «SECURITY» IN THE ORAL GENRES OF BRITISH POLITICAL DISCOURSE

The article is devoted to the study of the linguistic means of expressing the opposition «threat» – «security» in the oral genres of British political discourse. The aim of the work is to identify the linguistic means of representing the opposition and its role through linguistic analysis of oral communication of the current Prime Minister of Great Britain. The relevance is determined by the fact that priorities have changed in modern rhetoric: not just correct speech is important, but effective speech, and therefore the speeches of political figures represent the most complete example of effective, influencing speech. The object of the study is formed by the oral genres of British political discourse, the subject is the linguistic means of expressing the mentioned opposition in the oral statements of Prime Minister R. Sunak for 2022-2023. The material for the study was the oral messages of British Prime Minister R. Sunak for 2022-2023.
