The article analyzes ancient Russian philosophical thought, which for the first time posed the problem of man in his essence and existence, in the relationship of the spiritual and physical, worldly and divine in the moral experience of existence, through the comprehension of good and evil. It is noted that ancient Russian philosophizing thinkers expressed their ideas about man in figurative form and with an edifying emphasis. Several monuments of the spiritual creativity of Ancient Rus' are considered, in which the indicated ideas about man are most clearly presented. Texts have been selected that express the originality of ancient Russian philosophical thought.
