The article reveals an actual problem of the spiritual and moral values in schoolchildren through history lessons. The research goal is to consider the scientific and methodological foundations for more effective comprehension of spiritual and moral values by schoolchildren.
In the article the following tasks were solved: the main theoretical and methodological approaches to the formation of the system of spiritual and moral values as an integral component of a full-fledged personality were revealed; the basic principles of scientific and methodological support for the formation of such a system in history lessons.
The methodology is based on a systematic approach and includes the methods of the general scientific group (analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction), as well as a number of special methods: historiographical analysis of scientific literature on the topic of research; systematization of scientific and methodological principles and approaches to the problem of the spiritual and moral values’ formation in schoolchildren; as well as scientific generalization of the results obtained. Based on the research results, the author concludes that the scientific and methodological foundations for the comprehension of spiritual and moral values by schoolchildren can be multicultural and moral views formed in the process of teaching history.
