THE GRADED SEMANTICS OF INTERROGATIVE SENTENCES

The article is devoted to the classification of interrogative statements according to the gradation scale. In the FSC gradality – FSC interrogativity pair, graded semantics defines the relationship between different types of interrogative realizations. It is established that the basis for graduation is the nature of semantic, functional, structural, and pragmatic realizations of the interrogative sentence. The classification is based both on the actual linguistic facts and on the cases of the implementation of these statements in specific communicative situations.
