THE HISTORY OF CHINESE MEDICINE IN RUSSIA: FROM INITIAL CONTACTS TO MODERN TIMES

This article explores the development of Chinese medicine in Russia from the first contacts in the 17th–18th centuries to the modern era. Key stages of interaction are described, including diplomatic and trade missions, the role of missionaries, early translations, and scientific research. Special attention is given to the popularization of Chinese medical methods, such as acupuncture and herbal therapy, in the 20th and 21st centuries. The challenges of integrating Eastern approaches into the Russian medical system are highlighted, as well as the prospects for further intercultural collaboration in this field.
