The article examines news materials from the online publication Lenta.ru, organized according to the laws of narrative segmented hypertextual narration.
The interpretative framework formed by the narrative not only attracts the audience's attention to news content, but also influences the formation of public opinion and the loyalty of information consumers to the key meanings of media messages. Thus, the analysis of news items allows us to understand the mechanism of narrative formation and the influence of the media on the public's perception of the image of reality.
In this article, the news narrative is understood as a hypertext, the peculiarity of which is the specific implementation of the category of text coherence: at the structural level, it is provided by the hypertext transition, at the content level – the unity of the narrative theme.
The study concluded that each news story of segmented hypertextual narrative forms an interpretation scheme for the audience. The narrative is the core of the communication text, attributing specific sociocultural meanings to the topic.
