CURRENT STATE OF CORRECTIONAL PEDAGOGY: PROBLEMS AND PROSPECTS

The article reveals factors that determine the current state of correctional pedagogy (a significant increase in the number of children with developmental disorders, an increase in the number of children with disabilities with a combined pathology, an acute shortage of qualified specialists in the field of correctional pedagogy, a change in the legal foundations of the life of people with disabilities, the introduction of undergraduate studies into a higher education system, and the adoption of international classification diseases MKB-10). In connection with the listed factors, urgent problems have been identified that impede the correctional and pedagogical process of teaching and raising children with disabilities, and the quality educational activities of the defectologist. The issue of overcoming them is raised and the prospects for solving the indicated problems are determined.
